Who is the true king of Kruger? We all like to think that we’re “boss” from time to time, but this ellie was making sure everyone knew who was in charge, and even our local police force got a taste of the telling off…

61 year old, Beryl Venter, a long-time supporter of Latest Sightings, captured this amusing moment a couple of weeks ago.

Beryl told LatestSightings.com: “We were on our way home from Letaba after a five-week stay in Kruger – feeling very depressed and not expecting any “wow” sightings. We were then suddenly very excited to see the wild dogs running around and playing in the road – twenty-one of them.

We were the only vehicle at the sighting. We were taking photos as if it was the last ever sighting we would have of wild dogs running around us.

Soon after another vehicle arrived. The gentleman was staying in Kruger and was taking his son to school in Phalaborwa. After a few minutes, the guy asked us if he could drive slowly through the dogs as his son would be late for school.

We did not mind and as he passed us, we heard an elephant in the bushes and noticed a few dogs started running away. Suddenly, the elephant burst from out of the bushes and started chasing a few of the dogs.

Luckily they were running away from us.

The elephant then turned around and ran towards us. The vehicle that had passed us, reversed because the elephant was trumpeting and running towards us. We could not reverse because we had the caravan on tow and another vehicle was behind us. The elephant kept on running and the other vehicle blew its hooter.
